First week in Maui

So its already been over a week since I moved here, in some ways it seems like I just got here and other ways it feels like I've been here for so long. I still dont know how to find my way around the island very well which would be very helpful for hitch hiking, but when it comes to knowing the 19 other students I find that I know them all fairly well. With us all in the same boat and going through the same things helps us to bond! So... exciting news for you all. I know where I am going for my outreach, Bangladesh!! This country is one of the most populated countries, and one of the poorest. I've also learned that half of the population or more is 15 years old or younger and 80% of the people are Muslim. While I'm there I will be doing children's ministries, dramas and teachings at churches while working with pastors and elders. I'm really excited and nervous for this part, since its so different from everything I know. I have three months to prepare though, and my lectures and homework start tomorrow, its going to be intense!

  1. Dear heather,

I am finally on board - technology is still new for me. I hope your nervousness of going to Bangladesh is superseded by your excitement. I will let everyone know through the bulletin. Blessings, Pastor Len
